The Role
Flowbird Deutschland GmbH is seeking an experienced and driven Tender Manager to oversee the end-to-end management of hardware tender processes ranging from €100k to €5m. This strategic role is essential to driving business growth and ensuring the timely and successful submission of competitive bids.
As Head of Tenders and Presales, you will own a significant part of the revenue in Germany. You manage a small, but driven pre-sales team that reports directly to you. In addition, you expand your management expertise by hand-picking cross-functional virtual teams (sales, product, technical departments) to support you for each tender. Together, you craft compelling technical offers that clearly articulate the value of Flowbird's hardware solutions, maximizing your proposal’s success rate in a competitive marketplace.
This position reports directly to and will receive mentoring from the Managing Director of Germany. It is ideal for self-driven professionals with an aptitude for understanding technology and a passion for delivering results through structured project and people management. Or perhaps you already gained significant project and people management experience, but finally want to make the cross-over to P&L ownership - then this could be your chance!
You will contribute & make an impact through:
Managing tender processes from qualification to submission, focusing on opportunities with a value between €100k and €5m
Strong project and people management skills, ensuring timely and successful bid submission every time
Leading and mentoring 2 pre-sales resources and virtual teams of 6-10 professionals
Driving a significant portion of revenues in our fast-growing German success story
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and being an integral member of our collaborative and solution-focused German leadership team
Your background
We don’t think one size fits all, but a successful candidate might have the following:
Proven experience in managing tenders; bonus points if this is in hardware solutions
Native German or fluency and a sufficient ability to communicate in English with colleagues
Demonstrated experience in offer or technical writing with the ability to translate complex technical specifications into clear and precise proposals at high attention to detail
Structured approach to project planning and able to manage parallel workstreams
Demonstrates optimism and motivates cross-functional teams to deliver on deadline
This role is based in Germany, preferably Berlin.
