About the Role

As part of our Design System team it is very important to communicate and collaborate with other teams, therefore we are looking for team members that not only enjoy the technical work, but also enjoy collaboration with other teams to build great solutions. This role presents an opportunity to join a high performing team, become involved in global integrations and thrive within an autonomous environment.

As an Android Design System Engineer in the Design System team at Arrive you will face all aspects of serving the needs of engineers at Arrive. Ultimately, we want to provide our engineers with the very latest and best UI components for building native Android user interfaces, in order for them to create a world class experience for our customers.

Today our Design System team consists of one product manager, one product designer, one web developer, and one iOS developer. The team provides support to 400+ engineers and 80+ product teams across the entire organization. Our design system is in a mature state thanks to the team's efforts to continuously increase adoption. With this role we aim to take the design system to the next level.

As an Android Design System Engineer, you'll be a key player in:

• Building & Enhancing: Collaborating with a supportive global team to plan, build, and enhance cutting-edge native Android components.
• Driving Innovation: Delivering technical enhancements that align with our team's mission and the company's broader objectives.
• Seamless Delivery: Employing advanced rollout procedures like blue/green deployments to minimize disruption and ensure smooth new product capability releases.
• Leading Adoption: Championing the use of your team's components across the engineering community, continuously seeking improvements to delight our customers.
• Empowered Collaboration: Contributing to an autonomous, product-driven team, taking shared responsibility for team goals and product quality.

Your Technical Expertise:

We're looking for an engineer who can:

• Build Robust UI: Has experience with Android Design Studio and excels at creating high-quality, extensible UI components for shared libraries.
• Ensure Excellence: Delivers well-documented components with clean, easy-to-use APIs.
• Champion Accessibility: Knows and applies Android accessibility guidelines, adept at spotting and resolving issues.
• Streamline Workflows: Has experience with GitHub Actions to enhance our development process.
• Drive Innovation: Possesses a strong interest in Design Systems, UI infrastructure, and tooling, coupled with a keen desire to learn new and evolving technologies.

Great to Have:

• Experience collaborating with designers in Figma.
• Familiarity with React Native and JavaScript.
• An understanding of microservice architecture.
