The Role
As a Risk and Compliance Analyst, you will be responsible for fraud monitoring across the business focusing on high-volume, card-not-present and card-present transaction streams to detect anomalies, investigate chargebacks and fraud, and combat industry-specific threats like card testing and "friendly fraud."
How to make an Impact
Monitor & Detect Anomalies: You will monitor transaction queues and parking data to identify high-risk activity, such as velocity attacks, card testing on our mobile apps and web applications, and account takeovers.
Optimize Fraud Rules: You will help build and refine rule sets in our fraud detection engine (e.g., blocking high-risk IP addresses, setting velocity limits on specific credit cards, or flagging mismatched license plate profiles) given the internal and third-party tools provided.
Investigate Chargebacks & Disputes: You will play a key role in the end-to-end dispute process, differentiating between fraud and "friendly fraud" (e.g., customers disputing valid parking citations or forgetting they parked) and investigating the reasons why chargebacks have been occurring. You may also gather evidence (parking session logs, license plate recognition data, geolocation) to represent the business in the dispute process.
Analyze Trends: You will dive deep into data to spot emerging trends specific to the parking industry, such as EVC fraud, QR code scams, reservations reseller fraud and other growing issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to close security gaps in our mobile app and web portals, ensuring that fraud prevention doesn't add friction for legitimate parkers.
Reporting: You will generate weekly/monthly reports on fraud loss rates, chargeback win rates, and false positive ratios to present to the leadership team.
