The Role

We are looking for a Lead iOS Engineer to join our Driver Experience team as a hands-on technical leader and community bridge-builder. In this role, you will be deeply involved in daily coding while serving as a key driver of our global engineering culture. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work in lockstep with Android leadership and the broader iOS Chapter to ensure platform alignment and architectural consistency. You won’t just be leading a team; you will be a champion for collective growth, breaking down silos to ensure our mobile strategy is unified, scalable, and built on shared success.

How to make an impact

• Active Chapter Leadership: Actively lead and participate in the iOS Chapter, ensuring the Driver Experience team stays synchronized with global engineering initiatives and contributes back to our shared codebase and documentation.

• Cross-Platform Alignment: Partner closely with Android and Backend leads to ensure a cohesive mobile experience, identifying opportunities for architectural parity and shared logic where it benefits the product.

• Strategic Mentorship: Act as the primary mentor for iOS developers, fostering a culture of open knowledge sharing and peer-to-peer learning that extends beyond your immediate squad.

• Testing as a Standard: Champion a quality-first mindset by integrating robust automated testing into the development lifecycle, turning a previous pain point into a team strength.

• High-Bar Code Reviews: Lead the PR review process as a collaborative dialogue, using reviews to align the team on best practices and modern Swift standards.

• Architectural Guardrail: Think 3 steps ahead of the product roadmap, ensuring our use of SwiftUI and Combine is modular and accessible for other teams to understand and build upon.

• AI-Augmented Development: Proactively leverage AI tools to automate repetitive tasks, sharing these efficiencies with the wider engineering community to lift the floor for everyone.

About you

• Technical Mastery: At least 4 years of professional iOS experience with deep expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, and building shared architectural patterns.

• Collaborative Leadership: Proven experience working within an Engineering Chapter or Guild model to set standards that apply across multiple teams.

• Automated Testing Specialist: A strong track record of implementing automated testing (Unit, UI, Integration) to solve stability issues and improve deployment confidence.

• Mentorship & Growth: Extensive experience conducting high-level code reviews that focus on both technical rigor and the professional growth of the contributor.

• Systemic Thinking: Ability to design mobile solutions that consider the end-to-end journey, including API contracts and cross-platform consistency.

• Communication: Exceptional English skills; you are comfortable presenting technical roadmaps and bouncing ideas off other leads in a highly collaborative, remote-first environment.
