ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Director of Security Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for defining, leading, and continuously maturing Arrive’s global security defense capabilities.
Reporting to the Head of Global Security, this role owns the end-to-end Security Operations function. While the remit is broad, the primary focus is on driving a robust Cyber Security agenda, spanning Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, Detect & Respond, and Offensive Security. The role operates as a leader of leaders, with direct accountability for senior domain leads including Detect & Response and Offensive Security.
This position balances strategic leadership with operational accountability, ensuring security operations are scalable, resilient, and aligned with business risk across both digital and physical domains.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Security Operations Strategy & Leadership
Define and own the unified security operations strategy, ensuring deep alignment between cyber defense and business objectives.
Design and evolve the global operating model for security defense, integrating cyber capabilities with broader operational resilience.
Translate strategy into clear roadmaps, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
Leadership Scope & Organisational Accountability
Operate as a "leader of leaders," mentoring and empowering senior domain leads, including Detect & Respond and Offensive Security, to own and drive the strategy for their respective areas.
Provide the executive support, resource alignment, and broader organisational context required for domain leads to execute their roadmaps effectively.
Act as a strategic sounding board and escalation authority, removing blockers to ensure your leads can deliver on their missions.
M&A Security Strategy & Integration
Lead the operational security due diligence (DD) for target companies to accurately assess cyber maturity, threat exposure, and integration complexity.
Define and execute the roadmap for integrating acquisitions into Arrive’s security operations ecosystem, ensuring rapid visibility and protection.
Establish scalable frameworks, standard processes, and clear technology paths to align acquired entities with Arrive’s security standards.
Oversee the harmonization of tools and incident response procedures between Arrive and acquired entities to ensure seamless defense.
Threat Intelligence (Cyber & Converged)
Establish and lead a threat intelligence capability focused on relevant adversaries, attack patterns, and emerging global threats.
Integrate intelligence into detection, hunting, and response workflows.
Provide actionable insights to senior stakeholders regarding the total threat landscape.
Threat Hunting
Own and mature proactive threat hunting across endpoint, network, and cloud environments.
Ensure hunting outcomes directly improve defensive capabilities.
Detect & Respond (Oversight & Support)
Support the Detect & Respond Lead in defining and executing the strategy for global detection capabilities and 24/7 monitoring.
Ensure the function is fully integrated with broader business operations and has the mandate to investigate, contain, and remediate security events effectively.
Champion the continuous improvement logic and automation initiatives driven by the domain leadership.
Offensive Security (Oversight & Support)
Enable the Offensive Security Lead to design and execute robust red teaming and adversary simulation campaigns.
Support the lead in driving a strong purple team culture, ensuring that offensive insights are effectively translated into defensive improvements by the wider team.
Provide executive backing for offensive exercises to ensure they are conducted with appropriate scope and business awareness.
Incident Response & Crisis Management
Sponsor the enterprise security incident response capability, ensuring the Detect & Respond team has the mandates, tools, and readiness to act as Incident Commanders.
Serve as the primary executive liaison during high-severity incidents, bridging technical response details with business context for the Head of Global Security and executive stakeholders.
Ensure lessons learned are strategically embedded into governance, investments, and process improvements.
Governance, Performance & Executive Reporting
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), SLAs, and OKRs to measure the effectiveness and health of the global security operations function.
Deliver regular executive reporting that articulates the current threat landscape, operational performance, critical capability gaps, and immediate investment needs.
Translate technical security data into actionable business intelligence for the Head of Global Security and executive leadership.
Own the continuous improvement roadmap, ensuring that metrics drive tangible enhancements in defensive maturity.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Act as the senior operational security partner to executive and business leaders.
Communicate security risk and incidents in clear business terms.
WHAT YOU BRING
Extensive experience leading security operations with a primary specialisation in cyber defense within complex global environments.
Deep expertise across Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, Detect & Respond, and Offensive Security.
Proven experience leading senior leaders and multi-disciplinary teams.
Strong strategic thinking combined with execution discipline.
Ability to lead calmly and decisively during high-impact incidents.
QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant security certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, GIAC) preferred but not mandatory.
